Algol Mission 1 AAR : Augsburg

We got caught over the Netherlands both coming and going. On the way in, Anderson spotted a Me-110 sneaking up on us. He couldn't hit it, but the 110 managed to sever the port rudder cables before we shook it off.

Later on, another 110 announced its presence by putting a slug through Allen's arm and knocking out his Mid-Upper guns. This one never got another good shot at us, and finally gave up.

Approaching Augsburg, we were surprised by a third 110. He must have been a terrible shot, since even the advantage of surprise couldn't get him a hit.

The target indicators were easily visible despite the clouds, and Abbott put more than half our load on target. Searchlights and flak were visible, but none came near us.

It was a quiet trip until we crossed over the Netherlands again. A 110 surprised us by putting a couple of holes in the port wing, but we got away with nothing worse. We landed safely, and are ready for the next trip.
