Light action; 2 110s 7out and 9back. Minor damage to our oxy supply and our Pilot suffered a serious wound. Our Mid-upper gunner downed one of the two 110s.
Over Great Britain 5 crewmen bailed out (all 5 successfully) and the engineer attempted to land the Lancaster as the pilot was serious wounded. Unfortunately, the engineer and the pilot were killed during the crash landing. The Lancaster will not fly again.
