PM002 Mission 3 AAR : Berlin

Just crossed into Germany when a 110 surprised us from the rear. When all was said and done, the intercom was out and Houseman had picked up a knock in the tail. I elected to carry on. Didn't really care to hear the lads discussing football anyway.

Next German we saw was just outside of Berlin: 110 from below. No belly gun, so it punched some holes in the #2 engine, which flight engineer Duncun was forced to feather. He came around for another go from 6 high, but not much came of it. We snuck through the flak, and Carlsson put 60% on Adolf's mustache.

Another 110 had a go at us from below outside the flak box. He knocked out the tail turret. Crossing over the Dutch border, yet another 110 had a go from below, but missed. I'd swear the chap was following us!

Approaching the Zuider Zee, a 110 surprised us from behind, tearing us a new arsehole. Houseman picked up another knock, and the #2 fuel tank began spilling petrol.

Just west of the Dutch coast ... 110? Check. 6 o'clock? Check. Surprise? Check. A few hits on us, but he must have been running low on fuel himself. We eventually straggled back to base, where we made a perfect landing and got Houseman off to hospital.

Not a part of PM002 was unmarked by damage. Major losses include the intercom, flight engineer's window, #2 engine, #2 fuel tank, port aileron, port flap, port control cable and tail turret mechanism. In all 39 hits for 312 Peckham Points.
