At first, it was quiet...not much happening...at least not to us. Then, we got attacked, and the #4 engine was a runaway, and it was shut off, prop feathered. We then took a hit to the inboard fuel tank on the starboard side, and it self-sealed. So far, so good...barely. But the next attack proved to be a bit more damaging. Port outboard fuel tank was hit, and we were losing fuel...then it became obvious we had to abort. We jettisoned the bombs, and headed home without incident. No one was hurt, and we didn't shoot down any enemies...but we never saw Berlin, either...not this time.
