We had the Boozer device installed for this trip. Over Holland the red light came on and I gave a warning to the crew…a few minutes later our rear gunner spotted an NF at 5 level and yelled "Corkscrew Starboard now skipper!!" We lost the NF. Just after crossing into Germany it went off again I began to jink around…no NF appeared. After about 30 minutes (2 turns in zone 5) we had had enough of stooging around and got back on course.About 75 miles from Berlin it went off again, and I ignored it. On the approach to the target it went off again and I began to jink around a NF came in from 6 and Aldon spotted it and let go at him he saw flashes on the fusalage and the Jerry peeled off. Over Berlin searchlights got us we were being blown around by some close flak hits when an Me109 flashed by he missed us, but not by much. Jeeves yelled "Bombs Gone" and we got out of there in a hurry. On the flight home the warning went off almost continously while we were over Germany. We ignored it then as we crossed into Holland a NF came suprised us and shot us full of holes, knocking out the port rudder. We evaded him and Landed Ok.
