Civilians in the area just in from the coast reporting seeing a huge fireball in the sky and watched the flaming wreakage hit the ground. Luftwaffe personnel approached the site in the morning and discovered the wreakage of a RAF Lancaster, with the aircraft name of "Mr. Yank". Luftwaffe medical personnel discovered some crew remains and these were taken care of in a respective manner.
