Our flight was uneventful until we crossed the German coastline. A 110 snuck up on us and got three hits on us, on the port wing, hitting the flap, causing superficial damage, once in the tail, getting one hit on the rudder, and the third in the bomb bay, jamming the bomb bay doors.
Subsequent passes resulted in no hits for either side.
With the bomb bay doors inop, Skip turned us around and headed for home.
The return trip was as uneventful as the trip in. All that way for nothing.
