After crossing the coast of Europe we were supprised by a Me110 attacking from below. Jerry shot up both our port engines, forcing us to shut them down. When he came around for another pass Flight Officer Gardner hit him several times and drove him off. With the loss of two engines we were froced to jettison our bomb load and return for home.
