Another black day for the crew of Any Mouse. Two times out, two aborts. The only good thing out of the flight, is one less 110 to face next time out.
Zone 4: Tail gunner spotted Tame Boar, pilot initiated evasive maneuvers. Tail gunner got a good burst, and shot down the 110.
Zone 5: Surprise attack by Tame Boar. 110 got five hits — tail O2 hit, waist superficial, port wing aileron no effect, pilot compartment intercom out, superficial. The 110 made a second pass from 12 high. All gunner missed, with IC out. Fortumately the 110 also missed. He came around again from 10:30 level. Again, all gunnery missed, as did the 110.
With the IC out, and being so far from target, Skip turned us around.
No enemy aircraft encountered on the return leg.
