New plane, new crew, new mission.
From the moment we crossed the channel, 110's hounded us, though fortunately their bark was worse than their bite. Over Stuttgart we encountered more unwanted attention, first from a 110, then searchlights, flak and an an irrate 109, but apart from having a rudder shot off, nothing touched us. As for Jerry, the 109 got a few holes and ran away, tail between his legs like a scalded fox. It seemed that lady luck was on our side, right up until the point when we tried to lay our eggs and although we dropped them, the only thing we hit was a few of jerry's greenhouses and allotments. After such a trip it all seemed a bit of an anti climax. The way home was quiet, apart from a 110 who couldn't hit a barn door and we finally landed safely back home, having achieved sadly, very little. Still, we're in one piece, so at least we live to fight another day.
