Farr's Revenge Mission 12 AAR : Stuttgart

To Lord and Lady Farr

The aircrew and myself are all proud to report a safe return of Farr's Revenge, the modern Lancaster bomber which you have so gratefully bought and paid for in memory of your recently deceased son Flt Lt. D. Farr.

For security reasons I cannot here divulge too many details but suffice to say our mission was rather uneventful, even although deep into enemy held territory. Of particular interest to yourself, I am sure, will be the fact that we damaged 1 heavy enemy fighter with machine gun fire. Furthmore our bomb release picture shows a reasonable 20% bomb hit pattern.

Although I hope not to cause concern, I feel I must add that we flew home all the way on only 3 engines, number 1 engine having been knocked out by enemy action over the target.

I trust this report is uplifting to your goodselves.

I remain, your obediant servant,
Pilot Officer D. Paterson
314 Sqd. Royal Air Force.
