We ran into 2 110s on the way to the target. The tail gunner spotted the first one and damaged it. The 2nd surprised us but we took onlu superficial damage. Over target we were again surprised by a 110 and he made us pay by taking out our Mid-Upper Gnner. We were then hammered by flak losing the rafts and taking an oxy hit in the tail section. The bombs were dropped but went wide. The return trip was uneventful with the exception of one 110 that gave us root hits in each wing.
