Took a pounding right after we crossed the coast. First pass the bugger came in and knocked out our tail guns. Sgt Jackson yelled out that he was ok and moved out of the turret. Our STBRD rudder was full of a holes when he got done with us. Though Flt Lt Mann in the Nose turret did knock off a piece of him as he went by us. As we got closer to the target another Jerry came in and caused SF damage to both the tail and STBRD Wing. Kept me fingers crossed as all he did was put some more holes in the wing. Coming in over the target Jerry was no where to be seen. Kept me straining my neck as I kept it and the turret going to keep an extra eye out as we lost our rear turret. Over the intercom, Flt Lt Mann called out that he saw the target markers and had control of the aircraft. On target for 20% and the skipper to control and headed us home. When we got back we all took a hard look at our damage and realized this is not a game.
