Missing Aircraft Report
Interviews conducted with other airmen on the Brunswick mission, and reports from the Red Cross, indicate that PM004 was abandoned mid-air in the vicinity of Enschede, Netherlands. Six survivors are reported as POWs, with rear gunner G. Houseman missing in action. Analysis indicates catastrophic engine failure as the likely cause of the abandonment.
