Our ship took a terrible beating on this mission. We faced constant attack after we reach the enemy coast. The fellows did a good job of defending our ship. All together we destroyed three Me110's with Flight Officer Gardner shooting one down and Sgt Dunn knocking down two. However Jerry completely shot up our aircraft. I am surprised we did not have to abandoned the aircraft. Sgt DelGado shoot down a Me109 0ver the target, but only after he managed to shoot us full of holes. We managed to drop 30% of our bombs on the indicator. The trip home was just as eventful and Jerry continued to press home their attacks. Both Flight Officer Lane and Sgt DelGado were wounded. The old girl held together and got us back to base, although our crew chief has told me it was decided to scrap her. (Damage Total: 524 points)
