PO A. Dilbert reporting. We were in the middle of the North Sea when a 110 got the jump on us, punching a bloody large hole in #3 fuel tank. Engineer Gerbil did some rapid sums, estimating we might have enough fuel to make it home. Then the Jerry came back for another pass. This time he punched a hole in the #2 fuel tank. Luckily, it self-sealed. He should have quit while he was ahead, because on his third pass rear gunner Jalabert sent him to Valhalla. We got home on fumes. Landing was rough, as the tail dragged sparks down the length of the runway. Good thing the vapor in our fuel tanks did not ignite. (8 hits, 115 Peckham Points)
