AC— DD916 P/O Wilson, F/Sgts Chamberlain, Cavendish, Garside, Walpole, Johnson, Sgt Childs. Up 1657 Down 2346. Berlin successfully bombed. Good visibility. River Spree identified on run up. Many fires and large explosions observed. Glow of fires seen for many miles. Attacked by three E/A during return journey, mid-upper gunner damaged one. Lots of holes, rear wheel shot off, flaps out. Rough landing. 17 major holes counted.
