Dear Lord and Lady Farr,
Thanks awfully for the flowers and the kind thoughts you wrote on your card. I'd also like to thank you both on behalf of Scottie and Niel, our mid-upper and tail gunners. As you've no doubt heard, for them the war is over. Now that I've regained my sight after being temporarily blinded by that Hun's tracer fire I can put pen to paper. We had the darndest luck on that last mission, and it's obviously Your Lady's lucky rabbit foot charm that got us all home. We suffered a veritable feeding frenzy of ruddy Hun night fighters straight from the word go over the North Sea. Our rear and tail gunners put up the bravest of resistance and without them we'd surely be pushing up the daisies! Poor old Scottie, however your ever so kind donation of that brand new wheel chair will really come in useful to him.
How I managed reaching the target with my sight near gone is beyond me, the bombardier was tremendous, and on top if it all we scored a very passable 30% hit rate on target. Bones says I'll be back in time for the next mission.
