Upon entering Zone 8 heading towards target we were jumped by a lone 110. Dobbins was hit twice and the heat was knocked out in the mid-upper turret area. Our rear gunner bagged the 110.
Boomerang II aborted the mission and dove to 10,000. Upon entering zone 4 on the return we were jumped by another 110. Bertolli was lightly wounded. Once again our rear gunner came through by damaging the 110 and forcing it away.
We landed safely. Both crewman will recover.
