Take off went ok — over the continent the weather went from poor to bloody bad. About 150 miles from Schweinfurt a 110 tried to come up our tail — lots of tracers going by the cockpit, but we weren't hit. We lost him rather quickly in the clouds. We couldn't see much of Schweinfurt — we stooged about over the target a bit until somebody yelled over the intercom for the bomb aimer to pull his bloody finger out
. We saw a TI through a break in the clouds, dropped and came home ok.
