AC- DD916 P/O Wilson, F/Sgts Chamberlain, Cavendish, Garside, Walpole, Johnson, Sgt Childs. Up 2135 down 0401. Drove off two ME 110s. Minor damage port wing. Schweinfurt attacked. 15,000’ Some cloud. Bombed centre of concentration of red TIs. Built up area seen in light of photoflash. Two very large explosions seen. Two or three fires at west edge of target area. Chased by ME 110 on way home, must have been green pilot. Managed to shake him off. Landed ok.
