We had an uneventfully flight until we closed in on our target. A Me110 surprised us from below and shot up the port wing and wounded Sgt Haynes. He disappeared as quickly as he appeared. We had good luck over the target and dropped (30%) our bomb load on the target indicators. One our way out of the target area we were attacked by a Me109. The boys managed to shot him up pretty good. According to the Medical Officer Sgt Haynes should be available for duty in a few days.
