The weather went from bad to worse the closer we got to the target. There were several holes in the clouds over the target — Jerry had these covered with flak and searchlights — we got picked up by the lights. A single engine fighter made a pass at us — the mid upper guns hit him, we think. Flak peppered us and we as soon as I got the Bombs Gone
I headed for the nearest cloud bank. Holes all over the Lanc, no bad damage. Landed safely.
