This was a good flight, Sgt Philips saw a Jerry Me110 trying to come at us from below and shot him up and he exploded in a ball of fire. Over the target we were hit by flak in the tail but still managed to drop 20% of our bombs on the indicators. On our return flight we encountered no enemy opposition, but our # 4 engine turbocharger malfunctioned and we were forced to drop in altitude.
