A quiet trip up to the turning point where the night fighters got into the bomber stream. An ME110 got behind us and opened fire causing minor damage through the aircraft. Pilot Morgan was hit by a shell fragment in the leg. The flight engineer applied first aid and bandaged him up. The bomb aimer in the node turret got some hits on the ME110 and caused enough damage and he dove away to port with sparks coming from his port engine.
Over the target we were momentarily coned but a vicious dive to starboard lost the search light. We managed to get 5% of bombs on target.
The ride home was nice and dark and quiet and we landed safely at base.
