Quiet trip until zone 9. Surprised by Me-110 causing slight damage including knocking out pilot compartment heat. Allen shot him down after his second attack on us. Hit again over target, lightly wounding me and damaging the starboard rudder. Took some light wing damage as well. No searchlights found us and we avoided the Wild Boar fighters this trip. Bomb run was on target with 30% damage reported.
Slight wing damage on starboard side caused by another 110, but his next two attacks missed us. Hit again in zone 8 on return trip, hitting tail oxygen and hammering the bomb bay. Thank God the bombs were away. Allen potted this fellow after his third pass, bringing his total to nine kills.
Landed without incident. My wound has been treated and they tell me I will be fine for next mission.
