The fates looked kindly on us! Managed to dodge Jerry until into Germany, when we were hit by a 110. But he didn't hit hard enough as Sgt. Latimer tagged him. He overshot us in a steep dive with one engine on fire and exploded about 600 feet below. Bomb run was good (40%). Picked at by MEs until we reached the coast, with no effect other than superficial damage. Returned to base.
