We were surprised by a Me110 coming in from below, he shot up the aircraft and injured Flight Sgt Tice and then slipped away. As we approached the target area a Me109, wild boar came at our ship from 3 O'Clock level and Sgt DelGado repeatedly hit him until he exploded in a ball of fire. Over the target we dropped 40% of our bomb load on the target indicators. Our return trip went without any problems. The flight surgeon said Flight Sgt Tice will recover, but his flying days are over. We drew a new radio operator from the replacement pool. Flight Sgt Donald Pool should be ready to fly on our next mission.
