Pest Control Mission 27 AAR : Schweinfurt

Mission Description:
Schweinfurt, Germany — Industry
19th/20th December 1943

We didn't encounter any enemy activity till we were entering Germany. This is when a Tame Boar surprised us. The kraut did little damage to our ship but he rained havoc on the crew. MSgt. Brad Bonder was seriously wounded as well as Airmen Jordan McNair was lightly wounded and Airmen Eddie Rossmiller was killed instantly. On the Tame Boar's second attack he tore up the Pest Control. Over the target we were once again surprised by an enemy aircraft but this time with no adverse outcome.

Over Schweinfurt thing didn't go well and we were off target missing the aim point completely. Even with no flak or fighter intervention.

The return trip was going fine till over Essen a Tame Boar surprises us and further damaged our ship. Luckily he only made one pass. This attack punctured our starboard fuel tank, yet it self sealed and we were able to make it home.
