Algorab Mission 29 AAR : Frankfurt

Not a bad flight. Too bad it was a waste of time.

We ran into a couple of night-fighters along the way. Dahlgren and Danforth each drove one off. Another one found us on the approach to Frankfurt. This one was more persistent, hitting our port rudder, port wing (disabling the aileron), and bomb bay before we shook him off.

Searchlights caught us over the city, but we didn't attract any flak. A single-engined fighter did home in on us, but Eagan drove it away. Dahlgren swears he had us lined up perfectly on the TI's, but nothing happened when I tried to open the bay doors. That Me-110 didn't do much damage, but it was enough.

We carried our load back to England without incident and landed safely.
