Pest Control Mission 29 AAR : Frankfurt

Mission Description:
Frankfurt, Germany — Industry
23rd/24th December 1943

Trip out was quiet till 160 kilometers to the target. This is where we a Tame Boar jumped us. This attacked surprised us and he got his first shot in without us getting of a shot. Of the five hits on our ship the worst were a port wing fuel tank hit that self-sealed. A tail hit that damaged the rudder. As well as a starboard wing hit that rendered ore Rubber rafts useless. On this German fighter return attack he missed us and dove out into the dark.

There were no fighters on the front side of the target yet we were able to completely miss the target altogether. We put 0% of our bombs anywhere near the bloody thing.

Coming off the target we met a Tame Bore that laced us with three shells. One went thought the port wing root and another lightly wounded Brad Bonder in his left leg. About a half hour later one more Tame Bear once again bothered us. This one also damaged our port wing root and a shell shredded the bomb bay door mechanism. He made a weak second attack and broke off any further attacks. This was the last enemy fighter we saw this night.

Made it back to base and landed with no problems. MSgt Bonder will be fine and up for our next mission.
