Crossing the coast we picked up a ME-110 sneaking in and caused some S/F damage to #3 Engine. As I broke left I heard Sgt Riggs call out that he was hit but not bad and would stay with his guns. Over the target we were picked up by the searchlights, Had to slap the filters down over my goggles to keep from being blinded. Sgt Riggs in the tail turret spotted a ME-110 coming in and gave him a good solid burst, not enough to knock him down but enough to send him packing. We also spotted a ME-109 that went right over the cockpit! Flak was no problem as we got 40% right on target and I broke the Reaper down and away to get us out of the target area. Short of reaching the coast we picked up 2 seperate attacks by ME-110's. On the first attack Lenny in the mid upper turret manage to seriously damage the 110. but we also took some S/F damage to the Starboard Tail and we later learned that the rafts have been destroyed. The second ME-110 attack damaged the tail gunner's ammo chute and we had damage to the SW Root. No other attacks as the Reaper crossed the coast and made it back home. Sgt Riggs went to hospital after debriefing then it was off to breakfast and a nice nap.
