O Orange 3 Mission 31 AAR : Berlin

The crew of O Orange 3 and a trip they managed to survive and will not forget for some time. We suffered a total of 5 attacks from ME110s which caused considerable damage to the AC. The tail turret was put out of action during the first attack and Rear Gunner MacDonald was badly wounded. Howeverm despite his wounds he stayed in his turret and provided a running commentary to the pilot.

Due to damage to the bomb release mechanism the bombs and to be salvoed manually and we missed the TIs.

The attacks results in multiple damage to the control surfaces making the AC difficult to control. With assistance from the Flight Engineer Feneron Pilot Brown managed to bring his badly damaged AC safely back to base.
