Several enemy encounters &msash; outbound, over the target, and on the return with Jerry scoring numerous times: knocked out both ailerons (landing was okay), tail guns, and wounded (minor) Sgt. Church. But concidering the number of hits there was relatively little damage to aircraft or personnel. (Crew are hoping that it was not "beginners' luck"!)
