Morning Chaps,
Had a couple of runins with some tame boars on the way to the target causing me some damage to my port rudder and ailron. "Shooter Suv" soon scared him off with a damaging shot. This was just practise for the Wild Boar he blasted to bits when we had the torches on us over the target making that his second kill! Fortunatly only suffered superficial damage to the tail from their flak. Soon after this a tame boar shot poor old "Mad Dog" in the calf quite seriously. "Royster" my Engineer took over his guns for the remainder of the trip.
On the way back the kites no1 engine suffered a reduced power output, but the good girl plodded on. All was well untill the French coast where we were jumped again by a 110 which hit nothing major except "Gnr Griffins" heating system. After he left I dropped down to 10,000 ft and had no other problems and a safe landing. We are relieved to still have "Mad Dog" in the crew after his injuries. I think hes only doing it to impress the girls at the next dance.
Yours Faithfully,
Flight Officer Glory Goodfellow
