Jerry caught us in zone 6 and again in zone 7 where we lost #1 to a runaway that we feathered. As we had no other real damage we continued to target. Justin had done well so far, spotting both 110's before they fired. Rest of the way to target we were savaged taking lots of hits including to #3, (no effect) and the bombs (yikes! no effect, whew!)
Tagged by a searchlight over the target, a Wild Boar hit us a couple of times before we sent him flaming out of sight. Bombs were dropped spot-on the markers. Once away from the target, we saw only one other enemy fighter, south of Ansbach, which we damaged.
As we approached for landing, I noted that the port landing gear was not registering locked. A slow fly-by had the tower confirm it was damaged. Tried to set her down lightly, but the tyre shreddded and the gear dug-in giving us an awful spin and sprung the wing root, which had been damaged. All crew safe but the plane won't take to the air again.
