The only good thing I can report about our flight to Berlin is that we survived. We encountered 7 110s and 1 109. We damaged 3 110's. In return our Starboard flap, our radio, the rubber raft, and Starboard Rudder were all destroyed. After we landed, it was discovered that the port wing root was damaged, the tail ammo box and O2 system were hit and the bombbay door was hit after we dropped our bombs.
We were unable to find the target until it was too late. Our bombs landed off target.
