We are all excited to be heading out to Liepzig again. Another chance to destroy this important target. We encounter no difficulties for almost halfway accross Europe. Then a ME-110 hits us hard! The Port wing is hit, but no damage. The tail section is hit, the Tailgunner's oxygen supply takes a hit! We manage to get away. And another hits us immediately. We drive him off after he lands a couple of minor hits on us. We are over the target and we take a few more hits from another determined 110! The waist area's oxygen supply also takes a hit. The Mid-Upper gunner gets a damaging shot & drives the 110 off!
We approach the target & to our utter suprise, seventy-five percent on target! A marvelous run! We turn for home and encounter another 110. We are hit in the Starboard wing, no damage. The tail gun gets him on another approach. for the kill! We fly off into the night and encounter no more night fighters the rest of the way home.
