Home for Christmas Mission 43 AAR : Leipzig

Not a bad nights work for our fifth mission.

A 110 managed to sneak up on us unobserved whilst still over the sea. He failed to score any hits and our tail gunner damaged him on his final pass. A second tame boar then surprised us and scored seven hits on his first pass. The wings absorbed most of the damage with the port aileron smashed and the rubber rafts shredded. At that point Sgt Pullman in the nose hit him and down went the German fighter.

The target area was fairly quiet with no sign of any fighters. We avoided both the searchlights and the flak, and managed a good run right on the markers.

We saw no further sign of the enemy on the return leg.
