For the second trip in a row a 110 managed to sneak up on us unobserved whilst still over the sea. This German pilot looked as if he knew his business with hits on fuel & oil tanks and the port inner engine itself. Sgt Dennis managed to get a hit on him but with only three remaining engines and a long way still to go we dumped the bombs and turned for home.
