Knotty Nottingham Mission 46 AAR : Berlin

Mission Description:
Berlin, Germany — Industry
23rd/24th February 1944

Mission 46;
Must be a Nazi holiday as we only saw two Me110s, yet they were in no mood to press their fight. One attacked just over halfway to the target. The second was just coming off the target. Both twin-engine devils made vertical climb attacks and missed.

The weather over the target was great and Lt Mitch was spot on again placing around 40% of our load on the assigned target zone.

Figuring that the bottom would fall out on the trip home the boys got ready for business. But as I said, the krauts were just not into this fight. It was a nerve-racking trip home waiting for hell to rise up and bite us.

Flt. Officer Chuck Berman (Pilot)
