For the second trip in a row O Orange V returned with a dead gunner in her rear turret. Sgt Trollope died when an ME110 opened fire raking the AC. The rear turret was jammed as a result of an earlier attack and Sgt Trollope was helpless when the second ME110 came in. During the same attack the nose turret was knocked out but luckily the bomb aimer escaped injury although he was badly shaken. The bomb load was dropped over Berlin but unfortunately not on the TIs.
Despite a u/s rear elevator pilot Sgt. Anderson managed to make a safe landing.
