Attacked twice before reaching target area which we lost mid upper guns and Gunner and starboard wing hits, more starboard wing hits and port rudder on next attack . Over target we were attacked again Starboard wing landing gear hit, on further attacks Tail gunner took him out our first kill on first mission.
not spotted by searchlights or hit by flak bomb run on target.
returned to base.
just leaving target area and attacked Tail gunner reported tail guns inoperable and we had a few holes in our bomb bay, on next attacks fighter came in on our only gun still operable and was destroyed, luckily for us.
no further attacks and landed back at base, repairs ongoing.
