A total of 4 tame boars tried to stop us on the outbound trip. The combined fire of the nose & mid upper turrets shot down the first one. The others managed to fill the Lanc with holes that were too numerous to count. The starboard elevator, wing flap & brake were all shot out; the tail ammo track was damaged and worst of all we were forced down to 10,000 feet when the heat went out.
The bomb run was on target and the run home saw some minor flak hits and a final fighter attack that led to F/O Dennis having to extinguish an oxygen fed fire in the waist.
