Banchee II Mission 51 AAR : Berlin

This was a long mission. We had no contact with Jerry until we reached Germany. Over German soil, we had several encounters with Me110's who did nothing worse to us than putting a few random holes in our aerocraft and destroying our rubber raft. We were not searchlighted over Berlin, but did encounter one of their Wild Boars (Me109 Nightfighters). He didn't hit us with his gunfire, and mid-upper turret gunner Sgt. Cooke winged him. We came in on target and hit with estimated 40% of our bombs (Good Job Sgt. Bridgeport, on his second mission with us!).

On the return, we were bounced by one Me110 who put more random holes into us and wounded tail gunner Sgt. Bowie (Broken leg). Flight Surgeon does not believe Sgt. Bowie will be able to fly for quite some time, as his femur was pretty well shattered by jerry gunfire. Luckily, Sgt. Bowie will probably not lose his leg. I believe Sgt. Bowie will be replaced by Sgt. Robert Barber.

Banchee II should be ready to fly our next mission.
