Berlin again for our 13th mission wasn't the sort of news the crew really wanted to hear.
Two Me110s showed up over the North Sea. Sgt Alder in the rear turret spotted the first one and drove him off but the second one peppered the starboard wing root with cannon fire.
All was quiet over Germany until we reached the target where the searchlights and a wild boar fighter found us out. No damage was done to us or the fighter but it proved impossible to get back on track and the bombs were released wide of the markers.
A final 110 showed up just as we left Germany and got in an unopposed burst to knock out the port aileron.
