Off to Frankfurt. We cross Europe in the darkness & encounter little diffuculty. A ME-110 finally finds us and attacks. We are hit and have little damage. we slip away from this persuer. We approach the target & are suprised by a hail of gunfire, the Mid Upper & Bomb Aimer are both hit! The Gunner is slightly wounded, but the Bomb Aimer is seriously wounded! We on are bomb run, but miss badly without our Aimer!
We turn away & duck into the night. A 110 finds us not far away & hits our #1 Engine, which is trailing smoke! He comes around for the kill, but the Tail gunner saves us by destroying the fighter! We travel on toward home as a 110 attacks again. The night fighter hits us a few times and we manage to damage him! We are almost out and another 110 finds us for a suprise attack! we are hit on the ammo boxes & the tail guns are now silent. We evade the fighter after the nose gunner gets a lucky shot and damages the 110! We manage to land back at the base, & get our Bomb Aimer quick medical attention. He should recover nicely.
