All quiet for our first trip, short of the target we were picked up by 2 ME-110's. The first caused S/F damage to the Waist and Bomb Bay. Both Thomas and I swore we heard a loud "clang!" as the Jerry fighter made his pass. We looked at each for a second and went back to work. The second ME-110 didnt hit us our Mid Upper had a go and damaged him enough to throw off his aim. Nothing over the target area as Mike went to work and set us up on the the TI's. We later learned we put 60% on target. Not bad for our first op! On the way out from the target we were picked up by another ME-110 that caused damage to the tail turret ammo feeds and a hit to our PW root. On Jerry's second pass, Mike was back in his turret and did a fine job of shooting this Jerry down. We confirmed Mike's kill as Jerry pulled away with both engines on fire and heading down through the clouds. No other contacts as we headed back towards home. A pretty happy lot as I brought the ship down for a smooth landing and once we stopped at our hard point we got out and made for the waiting lorry. Now for debrief, tea and breakfeast!
