We move off to Berlin. Another run to the german capital. We are attacked by a ME-110 on the way over Europe. We are hit as the fighter passes underneath. The nose gunner is hit! Slightly wounded. We are fine almost all the way to the target, another 110 hits us hard! The flight Engineer is hit and killed intsantly! We are scrambling to get him. Finally on his last pass from behind, the Tail gunner gets him for the kill!
We manage to bomb 20 percent on target & turn fast to get away from all these lights streaking skyward! Another 110 finds us and we battle him in the darkness, we finally drive him off and fly towards home. One last 110 hits us close to the coast. We take some damage to our tail section. We are clear of him and can finally relax. This was a costly mission for us.
