A quiet mission until the target area. A ME-110 snuck in behind us and catching our tail gunner by surprise. Jerry did some S/F damage to the STRBD Rudder and STRBD Wing before breaking off. Our Tail gunner called on the intercom to tell me he was hit in the arm but ok. Bomb run started as we spotted the TI's with no problem. Only 10% on target. I put "Ann" in a port turn as we headed home. Picked up by a lone ME-110 as we crossed into France. But this time our gunner was alert and they both traded shots without any damage. Landed with no problems, but the crew is very tired as we watch our gunner get into the ambulance.
